autumn. autumn is a mysterious bitch. the end of summer feels like reading the last word of a book that you want to go on forever. when you feel absolutely satisfied but completely empty at the same time. you hang on to that last word like the lips of a lover you kiss as you say goodbye for the last time. when you’re left with more questions than answers about what comes next. autumn. thank you autumn, thank you. you show us how beautiful endings can be. you shower us with beauty to busy our eyes that want to cry at goodbye to blossoming trees and birds flying overhead. thank you, autumn. you soften the blow. you cradle us in beds made from Earth. stitched in her most brilliant shades of red and orange and gold. thank you autumn. you could be so cold. but you’re so warm.
